HRIDAY - National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana


HRIDAY Means National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana, it is a scheme to develop the heritage sites all over the country and implemented in January 21st 2015 to ensure revitalise soul of the heritage city to reflect the city’s unique character by encouraging aesthetically appealing, accessible, informative & secured environment. The HRIDAY scheme will develop heritage infrastructure identified by the Ministry of Culture to develop activities of water supply, sanitation, drainage, waste management, approach roads, footpaths, street lights, tourist conveniences, electricity wiring, and landscaping and such citizen services.

Objectives of HRIDAY Scheme


-To develop the infrastructure activities and planning.

-Preserve rich heritage site to attract the tourist heritage site.

-The heritage site will be developed on four steps urban planning, growth and service provision & delivery.

-Enhancing tourism and Cultural activities by developing heritage site.

-Skill development among the people to encourage employment and livelihood in heritage sites.

-Set up tourist maps, routes accessible to heritage sites.
