UDAN - A Common Citizen Can Fly - A Regional Connectivity Scheme


Union Civil Aviation Ministry announces the scheme UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagarik) a common citizen can fly under this scheme. These will enhancement regional air transportation from all over the selective places in the country and selective airlines.

-It is a scheme to develop regional connectivity by giving subsidies .The government issues Rs 2500/- for hour each seat for subsidy, half of the seats in a plane under UDAN scheme. The subsidy continues for three years of selective routes and selective places.

-128 routes were identified under UDAN scheme for 70 small and big airports all over the country.

-The airlines services comes under the scheme are Spice Jet, Air India subsidiary Alliance Air and regional airlines Turbo Mega Airways, Air Deccan and Air Odisha Aviation.

-The covering distances under UDAN up to 800kms for marketing mechanisms.

-Air India Subsidy Alliance Air is the first airline runs flight services from Delhi to Simla under the Regional connectivity scheme.

-UDAN scheme is a component of National Civil Aviation Policy (NCAP).

-After boosting the scheme for passengers and economic activity rises higher, the subsidy slowly lifted out continues.
